Description:

This film, part of Rossellini's 'war trilogy', has clear propaganda purposes, but already foreruns neorealism, especially in some strongly humanistic sequences. Vittorio Mussolini is the author of the script, under the pseudonym-anagram Tito Silvio Mursino. An Italian pilot on the Greek front is obliged to parachute and is captured by the English; he escapes and manages to fly back to Italy, but is mistaken for an enemy and wouded. He manages to land, only to find out that Greece surrendered.
